Wow! It seems like 2006 has gone by so quickly! I’m always amazed at the number of venues there are. Even though I’m sometimes returning to places I’ve shot at before, it often seems like I’m always shooting at a new venue. I’m sure with all of the choices that you have, planning a wedding and choosing your location is an overwhelming task. A few places that I shot at for the first time this year are the Gamble Mansion (Boston), State Room (Boston), the Harborview Hotel and the Old Whaling Church (Martha’s Vineyard), Emmanuel Church (Boston), The Lenox Hotel (Boston), St. John’s Presbyterian and The Regency Center (San Francisco, CA… SF/BA brides.. if you’re looking for a wedding planner Jean Marks totally ROCKS!!! give me a shout and I’ll get you her contact info), Club Longwood (Brookline… I’ve shot at the Ballroom Veronique right across the hall but this was my first time at Club Longwood), Our Lady Help of Christians Parish (Newton… BIG church!!!), Double Tree Resort (Santa Barbara), St. Ann’s (Somerville, another big church), Parish Church and the Pierce House (both in Lincoln, MA), Nashoba Valley Winery… there’s a few more as well but that’s all I can remember off the top of my head.

So far it looks like 2007 will also have me visiting many new places as well. Thank goodness for GPS!!! I still take maps with me as I’m always worried about Murphy butting in at the most inopportune time (paranoia is a good trait in this business LOL ) but so far it hasn’t failed me. The other essential wedding travel tool (of course… all the cool wedding photographers have one) is my iPod which I can plug into my car stereo. Anyhow, I have one more wedding to shoot in 2006 on New Years which coincidentally well be a GREAT way to start off the 2007 wedding season. I’m currently working on designing albums. I’ll post an update here when I’m done with some links to the designs.

I hope everyone has had a great year and has a very Happy New Year!

Cheers, Joe
