Symptoms of ovarian cancer
Posted on January 31, 2007
Hey everyone. A photographer that I know recently underwent surgery to have a tumor removed. Fortunately she was one of the lucky 20% who had a benign tumor and I’m happy to report that her recovery is going quite well however that didn’t make the whole ordeal much easier. Unfortunately it seems that ovarian cancer also known as the “silent killer” of women has very few warning signs. She asked that we pass this link on with the advice that if you’re experiencing any of the symptoms listed, it’s usually going to be nothing but it won’t hurt to get it checked out.
The Whisperings of Ovarian Cancer
For any other wedding photographers who have blogs that are reading this, your blogs reach a lot of women. I’d encourage you post the above link as well!

Formals before the ceremony?
Posted on January 3, 2007
Have you considered doing your formals before the ceremony? I ask couples about this during the consultation and some are concerned that the moment when they first see each other will somehow be less special. My experience is that nothing could be further from the truth! I’d like to introduce you to Dan and Nadya. Dan and Nadya got married in May of 2006 at the State Room in Boston and before I even asked when they wanted to do the formals they already knew that they were going to see each other before the ceremony having already done a little bit of research (they wanted to get to the party right after the ceremony… can you blame them???). Set in the luxurious main lobby of Boston’s Omni Parker House, here is a sequence of photos from when Dan and Nadya first saw each other before the ceremony:

This following shot is my favorite!!!:

If you’re on the fence about whether or not to see each other before the ceremony and these two haven’t convinced you, I don’t what will! LOL I think the way they look at each other really just says it all.
As a photographer the venue allowed me the freedom to move around them and capture their reactions from different angles and for the couple having time together really allowed for a truly special moment! The ceremony was equally as beautiful. After the ceremony we did a few quick group shots but since the bulk of the formals were already done they were able to get right back to the party to spend time with their guests instead of having to finish all of the formal shots. Congrats Nadya, and Dan!!!
